GCC Health Council Commends Saudi Arabia’s Role in Enhancing Joint Action

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Council has commended the approval of the Cabinet to sign a draft headquarters agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the GCC Health Council.

The Director General of the GCC Health Council, Suleiman Al-Dakheel, said that the issuance of the approval of this agreement reflects the interest and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance Gulf joint action and care for the health of citizens, residents and visitors of GCC countries.

He noted that the decision aims to boost the GCC joint action in the health sector to improve the health sector in member states, adding that the decision also supports achieving the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ vision, which leaders approved of GCC countries at the 36th session of the GCC Supreme Council held in Riyadh in December 2015 to promote GCC endeavours and regional and international status.
