Manama:The labor ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states gathered in Bahrain for their 12th meeting, which was chaired by Bahrain's Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministers focused on several key issues aimed at enhancing regional cooperation. The primary topic was the GCC joint labor strategy, addressing areas such as labor market skills, combating forced labor and human trafficking, and promoting balance and equal opportunities within the Gulf labor market.

The meeting also covered the continuation of work on the Gulf guiding framework for green jobs and the development of a framework to regulate the work environment in the platform economy. Additionally, discussions included strengthening occupational safety and health, improving labor market readiness, and creating a joint GCC framework to regulate and coordinate the recruitment of domestic workers across member states.
