Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi welcomed the United States' decision to rescind the designation of the Syrian Arab Republic as a State Sponsor of Terrorism.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi emphasized that this step represents a development that supports efforts to enhance Syria's security and stability. It also creates conditions for advancing recovery and development in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people for a future of security, stability, and prosperity.
Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC's support for the Syrian Arab Republic's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He also highlighted the importance of continued international efforts and measures to support the Syrian leadership and people.
