GCC supports UN efforts in Yemen

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani met Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen Martin Griffiths.

The two sides discussed latest political, security and humanitarian developments in Yemen as well as efforts undertaken by the UN Special Envoy to revive negotiations towards reaching a political settlement on the basis of the GCC initiative, the outcome of national dialogue conference and the Security Council Resolution 2216. Dr. Al-Zayani stressed the GCC support to the efforts undertaken by the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to achieve peace and alleviate Yemeni people's suffering.
