GCC’s SG Stresses Importance of Participation of International Organizations in Supporting Development Efforts and Humanitarian Aid in Yemen

Riyadh, April 06, 2022, SPA -- The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, stressed the importance of the participation of international bodies and organizations in supporting development efforts and humanitarian aid in Yemen.

This came during his meeting here today with the Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa, Ferid Belhaj, in the presence of a number of World Bank officials.

Al-Hajraf valued the presence of the World Bank delegation and its participation in some tracks of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations under the auspices of the GCC, during the period March 29 - April 07, 2022, stressing the role of the World Bank and its contributions in supporting and stabilizing Yemen.

They discussed areas of cooperation between the GCC and the World Bank through joint studies, research papers and technical teams as well as aid ways and financing flows for Yemen.
