Riyadh, General Food Security Authority (GFSA) announced the issuance of the first tender for importing wheat this year, 480,000 tons for supply during the period (July-August 2023).

GFSA Governor, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris stated that the quantity offered comes within the framework of the GFSA plan to maintain strategic stocks of wheat and to meet the needs of milling companies. He added that the quantity is distributed over (8) ships: (3) ships for Jeddah Islamic Port, (3) ships for Yanbu Commercial Port, and (2) ships for King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
