General Transport Center Completes Ramadan Season Preparations in Makkah

Makkah: The General Transport Center has completed its operational and regulatory preparations for the 1447 AH Ramadan season as part of an integrated system to organize transport and mobility in Makkah and enhance traffic management efficiency during peak periods, in line with the expected rise in the number of Umrah performers and worshippers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the preparations included the development of a comprehensive operational plan based on the center's regulatory and executive role as the unified reference authority for Makkah's transport ecosystem. The transport control room has been activated to monitor operational readiness, public safety, compliance, and the integration of various transport modes, including transport to and from the Grand Mosque, Makkah Buses, and Makkah Taxi services, ensuring continuous operation and efficient traffic management around the clock.

The preparations also involved the adoption of monitoring mechanisms and performance measurement tools through periodic operational reports containing precise indicators on mobility, compliance levels, and central station clearance times, along with corrective and improvement recommendations implemented continuously throughout the season.

At the field level, the General Transport Center assessed routes and station conditions and strengthened readiness through qualified personnel to regulate transport and mobility, while enhancing direct coordination with security authorities and relevant entities to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of transport users across Makkah, particularly in the central area.

These efforts reflect the center's commitment to raising the operational readiness of the transport and mobility system during Ramadan and ensuring efficient organization and the highest level of services for transport users in Makkah.
