Makkah: Green spaces and public parks in Makkah play an important role in enhancing the urban environment and improving the atmosphere, providing shade, reducing heat absorption from surfaces, and creating more comfortable spaces for residents, visitors, and pilgrims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Makkah has 290 public parks, many of which feature green spaces, safe pedestrian walkways, sports facilities, courtyards, shaded seating areas, service amenities, and playgrounds.

The importance of developing and maintaining these spaces is amplified by Makkah's status as a destination that welcomes millions of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors.

The development of parks, landscaping, shaded areas, and open walkways forms an integral part of efforts to enhance the pilgrim experience by providing a more comfortable urban environment conducive to movement and rest, while complementing the city's other services and facilities.
