The heads of security media bodies of interior ministries and representatives of information ministries in Arab countries have held a joint meeting here.

Addressing the meeting, the Director of Media Attaches and Centers at Saudi Ministry of Media’s Agency for International Media Relations, Dr. Naif bin Mutlaq Al-Otaibi, has warned against the terrorist groups’ exploitation of the media and social networking sites in promoting their ideas and attracting individuals.

He indicated that the media message directed to the masses about terrorism should address both reason and emotion, explaining that the rational message alone is useless in awareness campaigns for the young people.

The meeting discussed the draft code of conduct related to the media dealing with terrorist incidents, and the draft strategy pertaining to the media tackling issues of extremism and terrorism.
