Health Ministry Merges Tetamman Clinics into Primary Health Care Centers

Riyadh– The Ministry of Health has announced resuming full work of services of primary health care centers and merging services of Tetamman clinics with the rest of primary health care services in some centers.

This procedure follows the drop in the number of cases infected with the coronavirus, increase in the percentage of immunized people, lifting precautionary procedures, and resuming extended work at already assigned primary health care centers in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to cover the needs of beneficiaries.

The ministry noted that work is still ongoing in all primary health care centers according to same approach during the pandemic, with the aim of preserving achievements that were realized over the past two years, which put the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia among top countries in the world that succeeded in combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

It also stressed that lifting precautionary procedures does not mean inaction in committing to requirements of the public health, such as cleanliness, using hand sanitizers, and abiding by wearing facemasks in closed areas, noting that it is going on with assessing the health condition according to the local and international developments, and urging the public to call the unified call center 937 for any inquiries.

The ministry, with the outbreak of the pandemic, allocated Tetamman clinics to serve all those who feel symptoms of the coronavirus, such as fever, breathing difficulties, and coughing, where these clinics are ready to receive all citizens and residents without an appointment. The cumulative number of visits to these clinics reached more than 5.5 million, the percentage of referral to hospital reached only 2%, and the number of swabs totaled 4.2 million through more than 230 Tetamman clinics.
