Riyadh, The Ministry of Health, represented by the Emergency, Disasters and Ambulatory Transportation General Department and the Radiation Protection Program, took part in the “Developing National Radiation Emergency Plans and Risk Assessment” workshop, which was organized by the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, in the presence of many representatives of the concerned national authorities.
The workshop reviewed a number of topics on the agenda which include enhancing preparedness and response, discussing operational tools and information to prepare for radiological emergencies, building capacity, exchanging information, and providing information on practical aspects of developing national radiological emergency plans.
