HM King, HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated by HH Shaikh Khalid

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs on Bahrain’s achievement in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Bahrain won a total of 20 medals- 12 golden, three silver and five bronze.

Bahrain ranked in ninth place among 45 countries internationally and it ranked first among Arab countries.

HH Shaikh Khalid hailed this historic achievement, which reflects the support of HM the King and of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the encouragement of HH Shaikh Nasser for sports in Bahrain.

He thanked all national federations for their efforts and the Olympic Committee’s role and its executive body, led by Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, and the administrative mission, which helped make this participation a success.

HH Shaikh Khalid pointed out that Bahrain’s achievement of 12 gold medals and ranking in ninth place, exceeding its record in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta; was a reflection of the development of sports in Bahrain under the leadership of HM the King, wishing Bahraini sports (Team Bahrain) further success and achievements.
