Jeddah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at Al-Salam Palace today. The meeting included an official reception followed by comprehensive discussions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, exploring cooperation opportunities, and assessing regional and international developments. Furthermore, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Carney observed the signing of three significant memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
The first MoU was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Canada. It was signed by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. The second MoU established the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, which aims to serve as a roadmap for future bilateral relations. This MoU was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.
The third MoU was focused on artificial intelligence investment and skills development. It was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Saudi Data and AI Authority President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand were the signatories.
The session was attended by notable figures from both sides. From Saudi Arabia, attendees included Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, and others. The Canadian delegation included Minister of Finance and National Revenue Fran§ois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand, and several other high-level officials.
