Riyadh: The Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU) Academic Medical City has achieved a significant milestone in molecular and genomic diagnostics, with the molecular diagnostics laboratory at King Fahad University Hospital successfully completing the full clinical validation of Whole Exome Sequencing (WES). According to Saudi Press Agency, the achievement marks a major step forward in enhancing Medical City's capabilities in precision medicine and advanced genomic diagnostics, while expanding its capacity to provide specialized genetic testing. This development will support future clinical and research applications, promote the use of advanced genomic technologies in diagnosing medical conditions, and keep pace with rapid advancements in precision medicine and genomics-driven healthcare.
