IFAC Praises Experiment of Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants in Developing Accounting Education

Riyadh, The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has praised the role of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) in developing the accounting education and quality of educational outcomes for the university education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It also recommended spreading the SOCPA’s experiment in Arab countries to benefit from it, describing SOCPA as a leading vocational institution in the region.

The federation suggested holding a regional meeting for Middle East countries to unify efforts towards developing accounting education and keeping pace with the accelerating developments in the profession.

These remarks were made during a meeting by Executive Director for Membership and Vocational Rehabilitation Dr. Musaab Al-Juaid, member of the education and training committee Dr. Musaab Al-Naim and executive advisor Abdulmuhsin Al-Zaben with IFAC representatives.

The meeting went over means to develop accounting education, top realized achievements, and challenges facing the adoption of International Education Standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

SOCPA has launched a series of initiatives and projects to develop the accounting work and quality of education, including an initiative to match the outcomes of the education with requirements of the labor market, which resulted in several projects, symposiums, forums and focus groups to instill and improve accounting educational practices and apply the best international practices in the field.
