IMCTC Secretary-General receives Malaysian Deputy Secretary-General of Defense Ministry

Riyadh– – Acting Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Alliance to Combat Terrorism (IMCTC) Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghidi received here today the Deputy Secretary-General for Development Affairs at the Ministry of Defense of Malaysia Dr. Shahrazat Binti Haj Ahmad and her accompanying delegation.

Dr. Shahrazat was briefed on IMCTC’s efforts in combating terrorism and its role in countering extremist ideology and coordinating all efforts to confront terrorist trends through intellectual and media initiatives and combating terrorist financing, in addition to the alliance’s efforts in coordinating and intensifying the actions of member states.

The Malaysian delegation was also briefed on the latest developments related to terrorist groups and events around the world, and the monitoring and follow-up mechanisms.

The Malaysian Deputy Secretary-General also praised Saudi Arabia’s initiative to establish this Islamic alliance, forming, with other organizations, an impenetrable fortress against extremist terrorist groups around the world, highlighting IMCTC efforts in the various areas of combating terrorism.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghidi stressed that Malaysia is among the countries that joined the coalition since its inception, citing the key role it plays in combating terrorism and violent extremism in the world, especially in the Southeast Asian region, and referring to its commitment that rejects violence and extremism, as well as its membership in many organizations and centers concerned with combating terrorism and extremism.
