Inter-Parliamentary Union Urges Global Action to Safeguard Children from AI Risks

Riyadh:The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has appealed to parliaments worldwide to enhance protections for children's rights and well-being, emphasizing the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential risks to children's safety, privacy, development, and decision-making abilities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the IPU highlighted the need to increase awareness about the safe use of AI, review existing child protection mechanisms, and update current legislation.

The organization also called for stronger obligations on technology companies and AI providers to identify and mitigate potential risks that may pose threats to children.
