International Forum on AI in Security Fields Opens in Doha

Doha:The International Scientific Forum on the Uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Security Fields was inaugurated on Tuesday by Qatar's Minister of State for Interior Affairs, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani. The event, organized by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) in collaboration with the Qatar Police Academy, is being held in Doha.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the three-day forum gathers experts and specialists from Arab countries and representatives from international institutions to discuss the implications of AI in security.

NAUSS Vice President for External Relations, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Harfash, highlighted in his opening remarks that AI represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen security amid rapid digital transformations. He emphasized that countries and institutions that effectively utilize AI for crime prevention and building smart security capabilities will be better equipped to handle future threats and contribute to security, stability, and sustainable development.

The forum's objectives include exploring AI's role in enhancing security and addressing future threats, as well as using smart technologies for early detection and combating drug-related, financial, and cybercrimes. It also aims to improve efforts against financial fraud and transnational organized crime and to support security decision-making through predictive analytics and intelligent models.
