Iranian Revolutionary Guard: Haniyeh’s assassination carried out by firing a short-range projectile

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, was carried out by launching a projectile with a 7-kilogram warhead from a close distance, accusing Israel of being behind this operation with the support of the United States.

Al-Alam TV quoted a statement by the Revolutionary Guard as saying that “the projectile used in the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was short-range and was launched from outside the guest residence area.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards, according to the statement, promised the “gambling and terrorist Zionist regime” with a “decisive response to this crime”, stressing that “Tehran’s revenge will be severe at the appropriate time and place, and in the appropriate manner.”

It pointed out that the building in which Haniyeh was located is a residence for foreign guests and is subject to all security protocols.

The Revolutionary Guards stressed in its statement that the blood
of Commander Ismail Haniyeh will not be in vain, and the Zionist regime will receive severe punishment for the crime, and that the assassination of Haniyeh will have devastating repercussions on the Zionist entity and the United States, which supports it.

Tehran and Hamas accused Tel Aviv of being behind the assassination, while Israel, which has been waging a war on the Gaza Strip since last October, has not yet acknowledged the assassination of Haniyeh or denied its involvement.
