Iraq and Turkey discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Technical Affairs, Abd al-Rahman Hamid al-Husseini, received today, Sunday, the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Alireza Konay, in his office, at the ministry's headquarters in Baghdad.

During the meeting, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they discussed the course of bilateral relations that bring the two countries together, and work to strengthen them in various fields in a manner that guarantees the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

The two sides reviewed the results of the recent visit of Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al- Sudani, to Ankara and the implementation of what was agreed upon, as well as the recent results of the meeting of the Defense Ministers of Syria, Turkey, Iran and Russia, and stressed the need for stability in the region and the start of reconstruction operations.

For his part, the Turkish Ambassador touched on the Turkish presidential elections to be held on 14/5/2023, requesting the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant agencies to facilitate voting operations for Turkish citizens residing in Iraq who wish to vote in the Turkish elections.

Al-Husseini confirmed the provision of all necessary support for that, wishing the success of the presidential elections./ End
