Baghdad, There will be no international supervision on the early upcoming parliamentary elections, set to take place in Iraq on October 10, 2021, Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The Ministry’s Spokesman Ahmed Al-Sah’haf announced in a statement here today that there is no international supervision on the elections, but a UN monitoring team will be there, for once, at a request from the Iraqi government, with full compliance to the Iraqi national sovereignty.
Iraq has officially asked the UN Security Council to monitor the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, on January 27, 2021.
