Riyadh: The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has commended the Communications, Space and Technology Commission’s (CST) leading role in developing digital capabilities at the international level through its Digital Regulatory Academy (DRA).
According to Saudi Press Agency, this recognition highlights the academy’s active contributions to the Telecommunications and Technology Assistance Project, an initiative designed to enable member states to develop advanced digital regulatory policies and enhance their capabilities in digital regulation by fostering human competencies. The initiative aligns with global digital transformations and supports the achievement of sustainable development goals.
The release noted that the DRA has launched numerous initiatives to raise awareness of digital regulation and its applications in digital markets. It also supports member states in keeping pace with rapid global digital transformations. Notable accomplishments include workshops and specialized training programs that have benefited more than 900 trainees from over 100 countries.
This international recognition underscores Saudi Arabia’s leading position in the telecommunications and technology sector, as well as its pivotal role in supporting global efforts to advance digital transformation and sustainable development. The DRA stands as a pioneering platform that fosters the exchange of expertise and knowledge among member states, further showcasing Saudi Arabia’s efforts in promoting digital regulation on an international scale.
