Jeddah Set to Host Khaleeji 27 Gulf Cup Under Royal Patronage

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup "Khaleeji 27" will kick off in Jeddah on September 23, running through October 6. Eight teams will compete across 15 matches.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, noting that his patronage reflects the leadership's support for hosting prominent sporting events and strengthening bonds of brotherhood among peoples of the Gulf states. He added that the tournament carries special significance as its kickoff coincides with Saudi National Day.

Matches will be held at the stadiums of King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City. Group A includes Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Kuwait, while Group B comprises Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, and Yemen. Notably, this is the first time the Arabian Gulf Cup has been held in Jeddah.
