Jubail: Jubail Industrial City stands out as a pioneering model in afforestation and environmental sustainability, where vegetation cover has become a fundamental pillar for building sustainable cities that enhance quality of life amid climate challenges and rising temperatures.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Senior Afforestation Engineer at the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Ali Al-Shammari, stated that the commission continues to implement programs to expand afforestation and increase vegetation cover in line with the Saudi Green Initiative. These efforts culminated in the city winning first place in the Arab Green City Award.

Al-Shammari noted that vegetation cover reduces temperatures by 5°C compared to areas with lower coverage, improving air quality and reducing dust storms. The commission has adopted more than 100 types of local and adapted plants to ensure the sustainability of the urban landscape.

Jubail Industrial City's afforestation experience represents a long-term investment in human and environmental health, reinforcing its position as a leading destination for sustainable living and working.
