Jeddah: Preparations to host the Gulf football tournament 'Khaleeji 27' have entered their final stages, with 30 days remaining until the competition kicks off in Jeddah on September 23 and runs through October 6, 2026.

According to Saudi Press Agency, eight Gulf national teams will compete in 15 matches. The Khaleeji 27 draw placed Saudi Arabia in Group A alongside Iraq, Oman and Kuwait, while Group B comprises Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Yemen.

The tournament matches will be held at King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City.

'Khaleeji 27 represents an important milestone in a comprehensive series of tournaments hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have contributed to developing our operations, enhancing the efficiency of our teams, and testing our readiness across various areas,' said CEO of the Local Organizing Committee for Khaleeji 27 Mai Al-Helabi.

'We look forward to building on these experiences and delivering a comprehensive experience for the participating teams and fans, with the tournament serving as the final milestone ahead of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the AFC Asian Cup 2027,' Al-Helabi added.
