A delegation from the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSAA) headed by its Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, concluded an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand on Tuesday.
During the visit, officials from the academy met with heads of several Thai academic institutions concerned with teaching Arabic as a second language to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field.
Dr. Al-Washmi visited Prince of Songkla University in Pattani province, where he met with its president as well as academic and administrative officials, and the International Islamic College in the Bangkok-based Krirk University.
The KSAA chief highlighted the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership in supporting the teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers and consolidating it as a language of dialogue, culture and peace.
He also shed light on the qualitative initiatives that the Kingdom has launched to spread and empower Arabic and back its existence in various fields, with the establishment of KSAA being one of these initiatives.
KSAA's visit aimed to strengthen relations with Arabic language teaching institutions in Thailand, Dr. Al-Washmi said, praising the role played by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Bangkok in achieving the visit's goals.
