A South Korean parliamentary delegation affirmed: Iraq today is more secure, stable and prosperous… noting that it will submit a recommendation to the government to lift the travel ban on it.
A statement by the House of Representatives stated: The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, MP Dylan Ghafoor Salih, and the Chairman of the Iraqi-Korean Friendship Committee, MP Muhammad Siddiq Muhammad, received at the headquarters of the Foreign Relations Committee the Korean parliamentary delegation headed by MP, Han Byung-doo, Chairman of the Korean-Iraqi Friendship Committee, in the presence of the Korean ambassador.
During the meeting, according to the statement, they discussed ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations between Iraq and Korea through activating the Friendship Committee and exchanging visits and experiences.
The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee praised the continuous Korean support for Iraq, calling for: Encouraging Korean companies to invest in Iraq, establishing pioneering projects, and serious joint cooperation to overcome the difficulties facing the work of these companies.
It also called for a review of the Korean government's decision to prevent Korean citizens from traveling to Iraq, and to convey a realistic picture of the stable security situation and the development taking place at all levels.
For their part, the head and members of the Korean parliamentary delegation affirmed: Iraq today is more secure, stable and prosperous, which encourages them to enhance communication and practical, constructive and tangible cooperation in the interest of both sides. The head of the delegation stressed: they will submit a recommendation to the Korean government to lift the travel ban to Iraq.
The head of the Iraqi-Korean Friendship Committee, MP Muhammad Siddiq, presented a proposal on the possibility of opening a direct transport line between Iraq and Korea, and the possibility of opening a Korean academy or institute inside Iraq to learn the Korean language.
