Jakarta:The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) emphasized the importance of documenting and preserving falconry-related terminology for future generations during a workshop held alongside the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026. The event focused on the "Falconry Terminology Dictionary," which contains approximately 277 lexical entries aimed at safeguarding the linguistic heritage of falconry and enhancing its digital presence.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the session's significance was heightened by its location at the exhibition, the largest event of its kind worldwide. This setting attracts falconers, researchers, enthusiasts, and visitors from various nationalities, providing an opportunity to introduce the dictionary to a wide, interested audience. It serves as a bridge between linguistic knowledge and the practices and tools observed by attendees, reinforcing the exhibition's role in cultural heritage preservation.

The workshop addressed methods for documenting terms, structuring lexical data, and developing digital dictionaries to facilitate access to specialized knowledge.

The dictionary, launched by KSGAAL in collaboration with the Saudi Falcons Club during the 2025 exhibition, serves as a scholarly reference. It includes information on falcon species, colors, characteristics, life stages, diseases, as well as training and taming tools, and technical terminology related to falconry. This initiative reflects the joint efforts of KSGAAL and the Saudi Falcons Club to preserve cultural and linguistic heritage, enrich specialized Arabic content, and provide a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners while adapting to technological advancements in the field.
