Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) Masam Project for Clearing Landmines in Yemen successfully removed 1,721 mines from various areas across the country during the third week of September 2026. This included the removal of 44 anti-personnel mines, 85 anti-tank mines, and 1,592 unexploded ordnance items.

According to Saudi Press Agency, since the beginning of August, the total number of mines cleared has increased to 3,887. Since the launch of the Masam Project, the initiative has successfully cleared a total of 592,212 mines. These mines, which had been indiscriminately planted across Yemen, posed significant threats to the lives of innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, causing widespread fear among the population.

Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia remains committed to clearing landmines from Yemeni territory under the Masam Project. This initiative is aimed at enhancing civilian safety and helping the Yemeni people to live in dignity and security.
