Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief)'s Masam Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen removed 5,287 mines from various areas across Yemen during the first week of August 2026. The clearance operations included 24 antipersonnel mines, 69 antitank mines, 5,151 unexploded ordnance items, and 43 explosive devices.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the total number of mines and explosive remnants cleared since the launch of the Masam Project has now reached 583,513. The mines were indiscriminately planted across various parts of Yemen, posing a threat to the lives of innocent children, women, and older people and instilling fear among civilians.

Through KSrelief, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines under the Masam Project, contributing to civilian safety and helping the Yemeni people live safer and more dignified lives.
