Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) Masam Project for Clearing Landmines in Yemen successfully removed 2,164 landmines from various regions of the country during the fourth week of June 2026. This significant clearance included 81 anti-tank mines, six anti-personnel mines, 2,072 unexploded ordnance items, and five improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

According to Saudi Press Agency, the number of landmines removed since the beginning of June has reached 6,786, bringing the total number cleared since the launch of the Masam Project to 571,125. These mines, planted indiscriminately across Yemen, have posed severe risks to innocent civilians, including children, women, and older people, causing fatalities and spreading fear among the population.

Through its humanitarian wing, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its commitment to clearing landmines from Yemeni territory. The project not only aims to enhance civilian safety but also works towards enabling the Yemeni people to live in a secure and dignified environment.
