Yemen: The Masam Project for clearing landmines, operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), successfully removed 1,836 landmines and explosive hazards across different regions of Yemen during the third week of August.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the recent clearance operation involved the removal of 13 anti-personnel mines, 25 anti-tank mines, 1,792 unexploded ordnance items, and six explosive devices. This significant effort is part of an ongoing initiative to address the widespread threat posed by landmines in Yemen.

The number of mines and explosive hazards cleared since the beginning of August has reached 9,280. Since the inception of the Masam project, a total of 648,386 hazards have been removed. This initiative is critical in mitigating the risks faced by civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, due to mines planted indiscriminately across the country.

Through KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its commitment to clearing Yemeni lands of these dangerous remnants, aiming to protect civilians and enable the people of Yemen to live safe and dignified lives.
