Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) Masam Project for Clearing Landmines in Yemen successfully removed 863 mines from various areas of Yemen during the first week of September 2026. The removed mines included six anti-personnel mines, 470 anti-tank mines, 384 unexploded ordnance items, and three explosive devices. According to Saudi Press Agency, the total number of mines removed since the launch of the Masam Project has now reached 589,188. These mines had been indiscriminately planted across Yemen, posing a significant threat to the lives of innocent children, women, and the elderly, while spreading fear among civilians. Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its dedicated efforts to clear landmines from Yemeni territory under the Masam Project. This initiative aims to enhance civilian safety and help enable the brotherly Yemeni people to live in dignity and security.
