Lebanese Army Units Station Around Naqoura as Israeli Forces Withdraw

Naqoura: The Lebanese Army Command’s Orientation Directorate announced that army units have been stationed around the town of Naqoura, Tyre, and have commenced their deployment in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). This action coincides with the meeting of the five-member committee supervising the ceasefire agreement mechanism in Ras al-Naqoura, which was attended by the Senior Advisor to US President Joe Biden, Mr. Amos Hochstein. The deployment is happening in parallel with the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the town.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the communiqu© stated that the deployment will continue into the next phase, during which specialized units will conduct a technical survey of the town to clear any unexploded ordnance. The Army Command has urged citizens to avoid the area and follow the instructions of the military units until the deployment is finalized.
