U.S. cuts more than $200 m in aid to Palestinians
Washington, The US Administration said on Friday that it had cancelled more than $200 million in aid for the Palestinians.
A senior US State Department official told reporters that, based on President Trump's directives, the $200 million in funding for programmes in Gaza and the West Bank would be used in addressing high-priority projects elsewhere.
The decision was taken after a review of aid programmes to the Palestinians, and aimed to ensure funds were spent in accordance with US national interests, the US official added.
Palestinian Ambassador to U.S, Hussam Zamlat, said that the decision undermined decades of American vision and commitment in Palestine.
