Madinah Strengthens Standing in Growth, Innovation Indicators with Major Gains

Madinah: Madinah Region achieved significant gains across the development, economic, tourism, and cultural sectors last year, driven by the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The achievements have enhanced quality of life and reinforced the region's position as a hub for innovation, knowledge, and development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Madinah recorded strong growth in tourism indicators. Visitor spending increased by 22 percent to exceed SAR52 billion, while the number of visitors rose by 21 percent to more than 21 million.

The hospitality sector also expanded significantly. The number of licensed accommodation facilities increased by 35 percent to more than 610 establishments, while hotel room capacity grew by 24 percent to more than 76,000 rooms.

In healthcare, Madinah achieved notable successes. King Salman bin Abdulaziz Medical City ranked first nationwide in stroke management, while the Madinah Cardiac Center placed second in the Kingdom for acute myocardial infarction management.

The region also strengthened its international profile through several recognitions and awards. The Manarah platform won the Going Digital Award in the Geospatial and Reality Modeling category, while Yanbu Industrial City joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport also received an award as the best international airport in its category.

Several entities in Madinah Region received national honors in recognition of achievements in local content, innovation, and geospatial governance, reflecting the region's continued progress in advancing comprehensive development through strategic initiatives and qualitative projects that support a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
