Makkah Deputy Governor Reviews Hajj Sanitation, Food Safety Achievements

Makkah: Makkah Region Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz met with Mayor of Makkah Musaed Al-Dawood in Mina to review municipal services for the 1447 AH Hajj season. The discussions focused on the effectiveness of sanitation and food safety measures implemented during the pilgrimage.

According to Saudi Press Agency, officials reported that sanitation teams successfully removed over 250,000 tons of waste across Makkah and the holy sites since Dhu Al-Qadah. This was accomplished using 88,000 cleaning units, ensuring a healthy environment for the pilgrims.

On the food safety front, there were zero cases of food poisoning among pilgrims. This achievement was attributed to 29,000 inspection visits to catering facilities. These inspections were supported by mobile labs and 38 specialized vehicles, which were instrumental in safely monitoring the distribution of over eight million daily meals.
