Makkah Launches Sustainability Projects for World Environment Day

Makkah: Marking World Environment Day, Makkah has launched a series of sustainability projects and environmental initiatives aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enhance the urban quality of life for residents and the millions of pilgrims who visit the city annually.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Holy Makkah Municipality is executing integrated plans to expand afforestation programs, develop public parks, and improve waste management and recycling efficiency. Additionally, the municipality is deploying modern technologies for municipal services and advanced environmental monitoring across the city.

Focused on community partnership, these initiatives promote environmental compliance and a culture of public responsibility. Through targeted sanitation campaigns, the city aims to instill positive behaviors toward natural resources to secure a sustainable ecosystem for future generations.
