Makkah Region’s Coastal Islands Showcase Unique Natural Landscapes

Makkah:Islands off the coast of the Makkah Region have emerged as captivating natural formations, painting a vibrant picture amid the blue waters and rocky landscapes. The aerial views of these islands reveal intriguing shapes that invite the imagination, such as a fish navigating through the waters and a falcon's silhouette with outstretched wings.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these scenes highlight how the winding coastlines blend with varying shades of water, exposing sandy and rocky outcrops alongside small curved bays. Notable islands in this region include Jabal Al-Lith, known for its clear waters and popularity among diving enthusiasts; Marmar Island, celebrated for its diverse ecosystems; and the coral-rich Shughayb Island.

Among the other remarkable islands are Umm Al-Qamari Al-Barraniyah and Umm Al-Qamari Al-Fawqaniyah, collectively forming the Umm Al-Qamari Islands Reserve. These islands are named for the multitude of wild doves that find sanctuary there, adding to the coastal area's natural diversity.

The aerial perspectives also reveal land formations that resemble a falcon with wings spread wide, portraying the imagery of a bird in mid-flight. The rocky contours and surrounding curves enhance the sense of movement and expanse.

This natural diversity is seen as a significant asset for coastal tourism, an area the Saudi Red Sea Authority is keen to develop by regulating marine and coastal tourism activities.
