HH Shaikh Khalid’s initiatives praised
Guests of the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities, have praised the initiatives introduced by HH Shaikh Khalid for improving the youth and sport movements.
The guests included former Bahraini international player Hussain Baba and Bahraini artists Hussain Mohammed and Bassam Ali.
The 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Affairs in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, from June 24 to August 9. The league is part of HH Shaikh Khalid's initiatives in support of youth in sports and humanitarian fields, held this year with the wide participation of youth centres, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities.
Baba confirmed that the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League has become a distinguished local event concerned with embracing the youth and contributes by giving them the opportunity to be involved in fair play, to show their abilities, and talent, which could benefit local clubs and national teams. He added that the Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League in its sixth edition will contribute to the discovery of new talented futsal players from across the Kingdom and will form a broad base of futsal practitioners.
Boosting youth and sport movement
Bahraini artist Hussain Mohammed expressed his appreciation to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for giving the opportunity for male and female youth to gather in the Futsal League. He commended the integration of those with disabilities in sports activities, declaring the league an important site to boost ties among the people of the Kingdom annually.
Sar progress to semifinals
Sar Club advanced to the semifinals of the 6th Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League following a hard-fought 3-1 win over Buri Club. Sayyed Mohammed Taj's has wowed the attendees with his superb performance, largely contributing to his team's victory en route to win the man of the match award. A'ali Club booked the second semifinal berth after beating Umm Al Hassam Club 6-3. Ahmed Abdulnabi scored a hat-trick for the victors, while Mohammed Abdullah found the net twice to help their team. But it was the latter who won the best player of the match award. Furthermore, Tubli Club had to sweat to secure their place in the semifinals after defeating Al Nabih Saleh Club 2-1. Helping them to go through was Ali Al Maliki, whose efforts earned him the man of the match award. In the last match of the day, the penalty shootout swung in Babar Club's favour against Samaheej Club after their tie ended 2-2. Saeed Yousif of Barbar Club took him the man of the match award following a fine display.
