Mina Equipped with 74 Escalators to Facilitate Pilgrim Movement

Mina: The Kidana Development Company, a subsidiary of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, has completed the installation of escalators at several key locations in Mina in preparation for the 1447 AH Hajj season, aiming to facilitate pilgrim movement while enhancing comfort and safety. According to Saudi Press Agency, the work was carried out in three phases, with 32 escalators installed during the 1445 AH Hajj season, another 32 in 1446 AH, and 10 more in the current 1447 AH season across eight new locations, bringing the total to 74 escalators. The project seeks to enhance infrastructure and service quality across the holy sites, ease the movement of pilgrims, and reduce physical strain, particularly for the elderly and those with health conditions. It also helps shorten travel times between tent areas and service facilities, improving mobility efficiency and reducing congestion in traditional pathways and stairways.
