Minister of Communications and Information Technology Reviews Mobily’s Digital Readiness to Serve Pilgrims

Makkah: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha reviewed the operational and technical readiness of Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) for the Hajj season 1447 AH during his field visit to the company's headquarters in Makkah. The minister assessed the readiness of its digital infrastructure and services provided to pilgrims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, the minister was briefed on Mobily's network readiness and operational plans to ensure service continuity throughout the Hajj season, through network operations automation and the use of artificial intelligence systems aimed at enhancing performance to meet peak usage levels in Makkah and the holy sites. He also reviewed the readiness of the operations center, networks, and supporting systems to ensure service stability and reliability.

Alswaha also listened to a briefing from Mobily chief executive Nezar Banabeela on the digital solutions deployed by the company to enable a more connected and seamless digital Hajj experience, noting the completion of more than 1,750 4G and 5G network expansions in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites, in addition to achieving full 5G coverage in the holy sites and increasing the network capacity to 2.3 terabits per second, enhancing network readiness during peak periods.

These preparations reflect Mobily's efforts to contribute to a connected and secure digital Hajj experience through an integrated operational and field system operating around the clock, supported by advanced digital infrastructure and operational solutions that ensure the continuity of digital services during the Hajj season, enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind and stay connected with their families throughout their spiritual journey, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
