Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Discusses Future of Mining with a Number of His Counterparts on Sidelines of the FMF

Riyadh-- Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef held a number of bilateral meetings with the ministers concerned with mining affairs and international trade, on the sidelines of the activities of the second edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) held in Riyadh, with wide international participation.

The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources discussed prospects for the future of mining in the region with Senegalese Minister of Mines and Geology Dr. Oumar Sarr; Pakistani Minister of State for the Petroleum Division Musadik Masood Malik; Chad's Minister of Minerals and Geology AbdelKarim Mohamed AbdelKarim; Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov; Burundi Minister of Hydraulics, Energy and Mines Ibrahim Uwizeye; and Under-Secretary of State for International Trade Nina Vaskunlahti.

The meetings focused on strengthening bilateral relations, developing joint economic, trade and investment cooperation, and affirming the importance of continuing joint efforts among the participating countries within the framework of the Future Minerals Forum to maximize the utilization of mineral potentials and resources in order to achieve common aspirations and goals.

The meetings also discussed a number of common issues and investment opportunities offered by the mining sector in the emerging mining region that extends from Africa to West and Central Asia, which has promising mining capabilities that capable of bridging the expected gap in the growing demand for minerals in the future.
