Coinciding with the 93rd National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari announced today the launch of "Saudia Alaan" channel.
This channel will be part of the SBA's network and will serve as the official Saudi platform for broadcasting all official events, activities, and entertainment.
The "Saudia Alaan" channel is dedicated to covering the current advancements in the Kingdom, encompassing the organization and hosting of diverse events and conferences at the local, regional, and international levels. These events span across the political, economic, educational, and entertainment spheres.
The channel highlights the events that reflect the rapid progress the Kingdom is experiencing as it races towards realizing the Saudi Vision 2030.
In a press statement on this occasion, Minister Al-Dosari expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also underscored the substantial and unwavering support extended by the wise leadership to the media sector, along with their ongoing dedication to advancing Saudi media that is geared towards ensuring its active role in realizing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Moreover, the minister also extended his thanks to all government and private entities that are working to complete all preparations for the launch of this channel in a manner befitting the Kingdom's prominent role in the realm of significant events and major conferences.
Al-Dosari also stressed the importance of the media keeping pace with the developmental momentum and tangible progress on various arenas. This, he noted, serves as an indicator of the dynamic nature of the events, activities, occasions, and conferences taking place in the Kingdom, affirming that the SBA has taken this step as part of its goal to promote local content and achieve the transformation program.
Based on the roles of the SBA in contributing to the growth of all sectors and integration with partners, the CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, said that the SBA has finished all preparations for the launch of the "Saudia Alaan" channel, which will be dedicated to reporting events occurring in the Kingdom.
The channel's launch aligns with the increasing demand for coverage of events, exhibitions, and conferences throughout the Kingdom. This demand has been driven by a significant rise in the number of events and exhibitions hosted by the Kingdom, with a notable total of 5,650 event licenses granted in 2022. This represents a remarkable surge of 367% compared to the previous year.
Moreover, the channel plays a crucial role in assisting companies and institutions in accomplishing their strategies by reaching a wide and diverse audience within the Kingdom.
