Jeddah-- The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed the contribution of the application of modern technology and harnessing the best electronic services to the success of this year's Hajj season 1443 Hijri (2022), as part of providing the best services to the pilgrims under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness Crown Prince to one million pilgrims in cooperation with all parties From their arrival until their safe departure to their country.
The Ministry indicated that this success reflects the tremendous efforts and integrated plans developed by the ministry.
It also revealed that the use of modern technology included the electronic track, and the “Umrah” application to register pilgrims from within the Kingdom, in addition to launching the electronic registration for pilgrims from Europe, America and Australia, which contributed to reducing prices a lot.
The Ministry has also expanded the use of the Hajj smart card for pilgrims, which is an identification card for each pilgrim that contributes to guiding them to their residence in the holy sites, in addition to its role in limiting irregular Hajj. This card was accompanied by 3 new electronic applications, which are the “Smart Hajj Application, the Organizers Application, and the Workers Application”, which contributed to the ease and smooth of performing the rituals by the pilgrims.
Moreover, the Ministry cited the crowning of its achievements with media and awareness work, which highlighted the great efforts and qualitative initiatives of the Ministry, the most important of which are: the Hajj awareness guides initiative, which received wide interaction and great praise from pilgrims of different nationalities, and included 13 educational guides in 14 languages that dealt with topics of interest to pilgrims, in an easy and simplified manner that includes all the stages they go through during their performance for the rituals through its various platforms.
