Makkah: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance signed a memorandum of understanding today with the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos in the Philippines at the ministry's Makkah branch. The agreement signifies a collaborative effort to enhance Islamic affairs and cultural awareness.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry was represented by Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Enezi, on behalf of Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, while the Philippine delegation was led by Secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Sabuddin Abdurahim. The memorandum is designed to bolster cooperation in Islamic affairs, promoting awareness of Islam's values and contemporary relevance, while preserving cultural identity and social cohesion.

The agreement also outlines plans for exchanging research, books, and scientific publications in multiple languages. It includes coordinating visits by Imams of the Two Holy Mosques to the Philippines, organizing scientific conferences, and training seminars aimed at qualifying preachers, orators, imams, and muezzins. Furthermore, it seeks to facilitate the participation of scholars and preachers in Islamic conferences and seminars in both countries.
