The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance held today in Kathmandu, Nepal, a seminar titled "Tolerance and the Role of Islam in Promoting Coexistence and Social Peace" that tackles the tolerance of Islamic faith.

Some 170 representatives of Islamic associations and organizations took part in the event.

Chairman of the Nepal Muslim Commission Samim Ansari welcomed the participants, among whom was Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Awad bin Sabti Al-Enezi who stressed that the Kingdom's leadership is keen on spreading moderate Islam and coexistence around the globe, as well as achieving world peace, and preventing injustice, aggression and terrorism.

He also highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to combat fanaticism and extremism, and demonstrate to the world the moderation and justice inherent in Islam.

Nepal National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad expressed appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for organizing the event, while stressing the importance of coexistence and religious tolerance for all peoples in the world.

Saudi Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Saad bin Nasser Abu Himed, other ambassadors and representatives of charity and advocacy institutions were also in attendance.
