MoH Achieves Significant Progress in Vaccinating Elderly, about 98% Received COVID-19 Vaccines

Riyadh, The Ministry of Health (MoH) has achieved significant progress in administering the COVID-19 vaccines for elderly (aged 60 years or older). The percentage of vaccinated elderly in Hafar Al-Batin reached 98%, followed by Al-Ahsa and Al-Qurayyat with 93%. In Bisha, the percentage reached 86%, and in Riyadh 83%, while the vaccinated elderly in the Eastern Region and Taif amounted to 80%.

According to the ministry, these ratios were achieved after administering at least one dose.

MoH has targeted elderly in the first phase of the national vaccination campaign against the coronavirus. The ministry also has launched Priority Service; enabling all citizens and residents aged 75 years or older to rapidly get COVID-19 vaccine through visiting the nearest vaccination center across all regions and governorates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without registration or prior appointments.

The Ministry of Health has called upon everyone to quickly register via Sehaty application and get the COVID-19 vaccine, reiterating that the vaccines approved in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are effective and safe.
