Mongolian Falcon Achieves Record Sale Price at Riyadh Auction

Riyadh:A Mongolian falcon was sold for a record SAR1.4 million during the fifth auction session of the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the session's total sales amounted to SAR1,651,000 for three young falcons. The auction began with two lots selling for SAR151,000 and SAR100,000. The last bird, however, captivated bidders and soared from an opening bid of SAR100,000 to set a new record in the auction's history.

This year marks the second consecutive year the exhibition has dedicated a pavilion to Mongolian falcons. These birds are highly prized by regional falconers due to their impressive size, broad wingspan, endurance, and unique plumage patterns.

The event, held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, concludes today, having attracted extensive participation from both domestic and international attendees.
