Mongolian Falcons Fetch Over SAR1.1 Million at Riyadh Auction

Riyadh:Three Mongolian falcons were sold for a total of SAR1,190,000 at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition during the auction's fourth session.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the first falcon attracted a starting bid of SAR100,000 and eventually sold for SAR600,000, setting the record for the highest single-falcon sale at this year's event. The second falcon fetched SAR320,000, and the third was sold for SAR270,000.

The exhibition, for the second year in a row, features a special zone dedicated to Mongolian falcons, reflecting the high interest in the breed within the region. Known for their size, wingspan, stamina, and varied plumage, these falcons draw significant competition among falconers and enhance the exhibition's international appeal.

The event, organized by the National Center for Falcons, is taking place at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham and runs through October 10.
